The city will impress you with idyllic canals with a lot of trees, houseboats, drawbridges, cosy "Hofjes" and the squiggly facades of the old patrician houses.
Day 1: Arrival Amsterdam
Today your journey goes to Amsterdam, the city that has more canals than Venice. You can look forward to a stay full of adventures in the capital city of the Netherlands. Be impressed by the numerous canals and bridges and the fascinating architecture.
Day 2: Amsterdam - F
During a visit, you will discover the highlights of the city originally erected on wooden piles, such as the magnificent patrician houses, which are protected as historical monuments or numerous renowned museums. One of the most popular sights is the Royal Palace, the Paleis op de Dam, which is still used for representative purposes. A ring of atmospheric canals runs in a semicircle around the centre, which is traversed by further water veins. A delicious ice cream from one of Amsterdam's most famous ice cream parlours will recreate you for the highlight of the day. During a sporty, unusual canal trip by pedal boat, you always have new, charming views of the stately old gabled houses, romantic bridges and beautifully decorated residential boats. There are also plenty of opportunities for leisure activities in the canal city: around 1400 cafés and bars with adjacent parks and picturesque squares, where street artists of all kinds entertain you, invite you to linger. As a perfect end to your stay in Amsterdam, you should plan a walk over the Albert Cuyp Market. This is the largest street market in Holland (held Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm in the heart of the De Pijp district), where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, wonderful fabrics, fine leather, jewellery, handicrafts, baked waffles in traditional pastry shops or ultra-modern bars and much more.
Day 3: Trip home - F
Before you leave the Netherlands you could visit a cheese and wooden shoe factory near Amsterdam.
