Typically Holland! - 4 days

Day 1: Travelling to the Green Heart of Holland and Gouda cheese
Deep in the west of the Netherlands, surrounded by the major cities of Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam, lies the Green Heart of Holland. Lush meadows with grazing cows, straight ditches, idyllic villages and old Dutch towns characterise this region. Here you will visit a typical cheese farm to see the traditional production of Gouda cheese. Taste for yourself which variety you like best, then buy your favourite and take it home with you!

Day 2: Traditions in Delft and refreshing modernity in Rotterdam – 150 km - F
Who doesn't think of the world-famous porcelain when they think of Delft? During your visit to the Royal Delft Museum, you will experience the masterful production of Delft Blue and immerse yourself in the centuries-old tradition.
After your journey into the past, we bring you back to the present: the city of Rotterdam will certainly amaze you with its modern architecture, which gives it the nickname "Manhattan on the Meuse". Here, modern architecture virtually grows into the sky. The Euromast towers 185 metres above the hustle and bustle of this cosmopolitan port city. The futuristic cube houses, completed in 1984, are also worth marvelling at. The eastern and western parts of the city are connected by several bridges over the New Meuse. The most impressive of these is without doubt the 800 metre long Erasmus Bridge, which was completed in 1996. It now forms part of the skyline of this modern city. However, Rotterdam is not only known for its architectural masterpieces, but also for the largest harbour in the world, which you will get to know on a harbour tour. Amidst the lively traffic of sea and inland waterway vessels, let the impressive skyline with its imposing buildings glide past you and enjoy a unique view of shipyards, docks and the handling of thousands of containers from the water. Look forward to making your own discoveries in this lively city.

Day 3: Kinderdijk windmills and royal The Hague – 180 km - F
Today you will visit one of the most famous sights in the Netherlands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the windmills of Kinderdijk. Translated, the place means "children's dyke". According to legend, the name comes from the fact that during a flood in the 15th century, a child in a cradle was washed onto the dyke unscathed. The 19 windmills of Kinderdijk were built in the 18th century to pump water out of the polders and make it usable for agriculture. This is necessary because a large part of the region lies below sea level. The eternal struggle with water goes back many years and is still a constant theme today. The mill on the Nederwaard polder can even be visited from the inside, and we have of course booked admission and a film presentation about the mills for you. If you still haven't had enough, you can also visit the Overwaard windmill (admission payable locally). Some of the mills are still privately owned and can therefore only be visited from the outside.
You are free to spend the afternoon as you wish. We recommend a trip to The Hague - whether you want to experience culture or stroll along the beach!
The Escher Museum (Escher in het Paleis), where the works of Dutch graphic artist M. C. Escher can be viewed, is located in the centre of the old town.
The Scheveningen district is a well-known North Sea resort with a long tradition. Here you will find the Kurhaus from 1885 in splendid Art Nouveau style on the Strandboulevard. Stroll along the beach promenade, let your gaze wander over the foam-crowned sea waves and enjoy the fresh sea breeze in the bright sunshine.

Day 4: Journey home - F
After a fascinating stay, you will start your journey home today. You will return home with many wonderful memories and pictures. If time permits, we recommend a stopover at the Tulperij in Voorhout. On this farm you can learn all about growing tulips in spring, and a dahlia show garden awaits you during a visit in late summer and autumn.
