Tradition and imperial delights in the Black Forest - 4 days

Bollenhüte, cuckoo clocks and cherry cake - that's what people associate with the Black Forest. But this magical region has much more to offer. It is surrounded by beautiful landscapes such as the Kaiserstuhl and the Baden region. Whether it's luxurious Baden-Baden with its thermal baths and world-famous casino, Freudenstadt in the heart of the Black Forest or medieval Freiburg - our excursion program leaves nothing to be desired. A wonderful sparkling wine tasting in the cellars of the Geldermann winery, impressive nature around Lake Mummelsee and tasty Baden wines will accompany your group through one of Germany's most diverse regions. A culinary journey with plenty to discover.

Day 1: Journey to Achern - A
Today you travel on a route of your choice to the pretty town of Achern in the Ortenau region. In addition to the breathtaking backdrop of the Hornisgrinde - the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest - this lively little town also offers numerous shopping opportunities and, with its location on the Baden Wine Route and the Black Forest High Road, is the ideal starting point for the excursions of the next few days. Dinner awaits you in the restaurant 'der Ochsen' in Sasbach.

Day 2: Black Forest tradition and Baden wine - F
You start your excursion to the northern Black Forest early in the morning. You drive along the Black Forest High Road to Lake Mummelsee. Even on the way, you will be immersed in the magic of the Black Forest. On a walk around the small lake, you can get to the bottom of the legend surrounding the famous lake and buy traditional souvenirs in the Black Forest store. Then it's off to Freudenstadt. In addition to the impressive town church, you will also see the largest market square in Germany. After a lunch break, you will continue on to fashionable Baden-Baden. During a city tour, you will learn what makes this small town so world-famous and unique and admire the impressive buildings in the spa gardens. The day comes to an end with an extensive wine tasting of Baden wines at a nearby winery.

Day 3: Kaiserstuhl and Freiburg im Breisgau - F
After breakfast, your tour guide will await you for a city tour. Freiburg im Breisgau is situated on the slopes of the Black Forest and in the Upper Rhine Plain. The city exudes a cosmopolitan spirit—Switzerland and France are close by—tradition and charm, as well as a pleasant climate. Freiburg Minster is located right in the city center and is a popular first stop for visitors from near and far. Your tour will take you past the Old Town Hall, the Berthold Museum, and the Augustiner Museum. Another highlight is the approximately 15.5-kilometer-long Freiburg Bächle (river streams). These narrow waterways are found in the historic old town area. Afterwards, you will experience the Kaiserstuhl wine region. Via Bötzingen, you will reach Breisach am Rhein. The small town of Breisach offers a sublime view, perched on a basalt cliff directly on the Rhine. Its landmark, St. Stephen's Cathedral, is visible from afar and towers over Breisach. The origins of the Minster date back to the 12th to 15th centuries. The Minster Hill, on which the venerable building was built, has been inhabited for over 4,000 years and offers magnificent panoramic views stretching from the Black Forest across the Rhine Valley to the Vosges Mountains in France. A sense of tradition is best experienced where it is cultivated: beneath Breisach's Minster Hill in the cellars of the Geldermann private sparkling wine cellar. The 15th-century vault alone is impressive. On a cellar tour, you'll learn all about the history of the house and the intricacies of sparkling wine production. After the theory has been covered, you can convince yourself with a tasting that a Geldermann justifies even the greatest effort. To round off the day, enjoy a relaxing break in the tranquil town of Endingen am Kaiserstuhl. Stroll through the narrow alleyways and explore the historic old town. You can end the day at the Cheese Museum with a guided tour and a small snack plate (bookable for an additional charge).

Day 4: Homeward journey - F
After days full of tradition and enjoyment, it's time to say goodbye today. A stop in Karlsruhe or Stuttgart is worthwhile on your journey home. We will be happy to help you with the organization.
