  • Roaring Triberg waterfalls
  • Living traditions in the Black Forest

In the meantime, the bright red Bollenhut has become the symbol of the entire Black Forest - did you know that it is actually only at home in Gutach, Kirnbach and Hornberg-Reichenbach? There is a lot to discover in the Black Forest: old town houses, homely Black Forest courtyards and traditional handicrafts. In the Dorotheenhütte in Wolfach, the last active mouth blowing hut in the Black Forest, the craft is still alive: be there when the glassmakers grind, engrave and create glasses, vases and sculptures. You will find pure nature at the Triberg Waterfalls - the highest waterfalls in Germany, which are an experience all year round.

Day 1: Arrival at Black Forest - A
Enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Black Forest during your arrival. Dreamy valleys, dark pine forests and people with a lot of serenity await you in the coming days. If it suits your route, we recommend a city tour in Offenburg (optional). Get to know the historic city center, the baroque town hall, the royal court, the Kreuzkirche and many other sights.

Day 2: Wonderful and unique Black Forest - F/A
You start your exploration tour in the glass blowing "Dorotheenhütte" in Wolfach. Here you can see the fine art of glass blowing: It is produced in front of the visitors and you can experience how the inert, glowing quartz sand mass is turned into a ready-to-sell end product. After visiting the glassworks, continue to Triberg. The city is known for its waterfalls. You must have seen Germany's highest waterfalls in Triberg! Foaming and roaring, the water of the Gutach falls 163m. You can enjoy a magnificent natural spectacle on the paths along the seven falls. The waterfalls are accessible all year round and offer an impressive backdrop even in winter. Afterwards, we recommend exploring the traditional Vogst farm typical of the Black Forest. Here you can discover how people have lived, lived and worked in the Black Forest over the past 400 years (optional). In the open-air museum you can get to know culture and history up close, in the black kitchens it still smells of the smoke of the last fire. There are old breeds of pets in the barn, sheep, goats and chickens frolic in pastures. Hand-made tools and numerous tools testify to the hard everyday work of the residents and are still used on many demonstrations and campaign days.

Day 3: Optional trip to Gengenbach - F/A
Today we recommend a trip to Gengenbach, a city that owes its special charm to its historic city center, but also to its happy location and mild climate. After a leisurely breakfast in the hotel, you will get to know the small town on a city tour (optional). Gengenbach has a lot to offer: the town hall, the Röhrbrunnen, the Stadtkirche St. Marien and the Narrenbrunnen are just a few of the sights you will see.

Day 4: Homeward journey - F
After a rich breakfast buffet you will now say goodbye to the beautiful Black Forest.
