Day 1: Arrival Poznan - A
Travel on a route of your choice to your overnight destination of Poznan. On the way, you can see the largest statue of Jesus in the world in the small Polish town of Swiebodzin (Schwiebus). The 33m high statue of the Son of God is 3m taller than the famous figure in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The crown alone is 2m high. The construction was planned and implemented by local priest Zawadzki, who turned Swiebodzin into a place of pilgrimage for all believers.
Day 2: Poznan - Thorn - Masuria – 420 km - F/A
Your destination today is Masuria. On the way, a stopover with a city tour in Thorn is a good idea. Founded in the 13th century, Thorn flourished as a Hanseatic city for many years and built many fascinating buildings and artistic monuments, which today attract visitors from all over the world. Let yourself be enchanted and be sure to discover the toilet tower, the city walls, the old town hall and the Nicolaus Copernicus monument. Afterwards, pure nature awaits you in Masuria.
Day 3: Masuria - Klaipeda – 520 km - F/A
Travel to Klaipeda in Lithuania, located at the northern end of the Curonian Lagoon. Klaipeda has many important sights. These include the Ark, which is the largest granite monument in Lithuania, the Dolphinarium and Maritime Museum and the Simon Roof Fountain in the heart of the old town.
Day 4: Excursion to the Curonian Spit – 100 km - F/A
After the city tour in Klaipeda, you can look forward to an excursion to the Curonian Spit. An unforgettable journey awaits you: endless sand dunes, fragrant pine forests and golden beaches. During the city tour of Nidden, you can visit the fisherman's cottage where Thomas Mann lived and worked for several summers (for an extra charge). With a great view of the lagoon and the Memel delta, Mann enjoyed himself in a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. On the Witches' Hill in Juodkrante, you will see many carved wooden sculptures from the world of Lithuanian legends and gods. The giantess Neringa is not to be missed among the 80 or so bizarre figures. Return journey to Klaipeda.
Day 5: Klaipeda - Hill of Crosses - Riga – 300 km - F/A
The trip via Palanga, the amber town, to the Hill of Crosses in Siauliai is particularly worth seeing. The seaside resort of Palanga is famous for its fine sandy beach and the world's largest amber museum. Make a stop at the Hill of Crosses. Thousands of crosses are grouped around a statue of the Mother of God - small and large, simple and richly decorated, wooden or metal. At this Lithuanian place of pilgrimage, the crosses symbolize the memories and hopes of the Lithuanians. Continue to Riga.
Day 6: Riga – Pärnu – Tallinn – 310 km - F/A
Step into a fascinating city full of art and culture during the guided tour! It is difficult to resist the attraction of Riga. 800 years have shaped its unique appearance and rich traditions. It is almost impossible not to love Riga. The Art Nouveau metropolis inspires with its ancient, historical impressions. Via Pärnu you reach your destination for today, Tallinn.
Day 7: Getting to know Tallinn - F/A
Tallinn has an enchanting mix of medieval and modern city life. In summer, the Old Town is very lively with its many stores, galleries, souvenir stores, street cafés and restaurants. The city tour takes you along the old city wall into the old town, where you will see the castle, the cathedral, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the medieval town hall. You can also visit the museum in the old cannon tower Kiek in de Kök (extra charge), which has been a part of Tallinn for more than 500 years. The name means "look into the kitchen", as the soldiers could watch the maids cooking from the upper windows. The afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 8: Tallinn - Gauja National Park – 300 km - F/A
The Gauja National Park was nicknamed "Livonian Switzerland" thanks to its relatively steep sandstone cliffs. You will visit the park with Turaida Castle (entrance fee), which is associated with the legend of the "Rose of Turaida". Afterwards, the ruins of Sigulda Castle from the 13th century await you (admission at an extra charge). You will also experience the magnificent forests along the course of the river, their untouched flora and fauna and enjoy the unspoiled nature. Let yourself be initiated into the secrets of the wine-making process today! The wine produced at the Krimulda estate is made from local forest or garden berries (bookable for an extra charge).
Day 9: Gauja National Park - Vilnius – 350 km - F/A
Via Panevezys you reach Vilnius, a city that surprises you with a multitude of magnificent Baroque churches and buildings. It seems as if the Christian faith was demonstratively impressed on the pagans in stone. Monasteries and churches dominate the cityscape - some of which have now been magnificently restored. The university quarter with its Italian-inspired courtyards, the imposing St. John's Church and the library is a unique architectural ensemble. You can look forward to discovering the sights during the guided tour. Lithuanians love to drink beer and brewing has a long tradition. Day 10: Vilnius - Warsaw – 470 km - F/A
You leave the Lithuanian capital and travel through the natural landscape of Masuria to Warsaw for your last overnight stay. Poland's capital is located on the Vistula and is one of the fastest developing cities in Europe. Numerous valuable architectural monuments, more than 30 theaters and around 50 museums make this metropolis of 1.7 million inhabitants a cultural highlight. The entire Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Town Market Square with its adjoining alleyways is one of the most beautiful districts in Warsaw.
Day 11: Journey home - F
