“I Have Lost my Heart in Heidelberg...” - 3 days

“The city, with its location and its entire surroundings, has, one may say, something ideal about it,” wrote Goethe. And rightly so, as the city offers a wealth of impressive sights. The majestic Heidelberg Castle high above the old town is the crowning glory of Heidelberg. Things get futuristic on the waterway: the solar-powered ship glides across the Neckar using only the power of the sun.

Day 1: Arrival Heidelberg
On your journey, we recommend a short stop in Heppenheim, the home town of Sebastian Vettel and the center of the Bergstrasse. A guided tour of the historic old town will give you a first impression of the region where you will be spending the next few days. We will be happy to organize a wine tasting on the Bergstrasse on your arrival to round off the day with a delicious wine (optional).

Day 2: Romantic old town and sublime castle ruins - F
Today's destination is Heidelberg. Your guide will accompany you through the old town for the next 1.5 hours. Walk through Heidelberg's alleyways and discover the beauty of the Electoral Palatinate churches, the Old Town squares, Germany's oldest university and the Old Bridge. We recommend booking the castle ticket, which allows you to take the cable car to Heidelberg Castle. In addition to the visit to the castle, admission to the German Pharmacy Museum is also included in the price of the castle ticket (castle ticket optional).
In the afternoon, a boat trip on the Neckar awaits you on the world's largest solar catamaran, powered by the sun. As the ship glides gently and quietly along, you will experience the charming views of the city of Heidelberg.

Day 3: Journey home via Mannheim or Speyer - F
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to the Bergstrasse and Heidelberg. How about a detour to the "square city" of Mannheim (optional)? During your visit to this multifaceted city on the Rhine and Neckar, you will immediately notice the chessboard-like layout of the city center, which is reminiscent of the great metropolis of New York. Join us on a stroll through the city's highlights. On the edge of the "squares" is the water tower, probably Mannheim's best-known landmark, whose height alone makes it a visual landmark in the city. The city tour takes you via Paradeplatz, centrally located in the city center, via Marktplatz to Schillerplatz, where the Jesuit Church is located. The Catholic parish church shines magnificently from the inside. It is the architectural testimony to the transfer of the Palatinate Protestant electoral dignity to the Catholic line of the House of Wittelsbach. Of course, the imposing and second largest baroque palace in Europe with its impressive cour d'honneur should not be missed on your tour. Before you say goodbye to your guide, he has a special surprise in store for you. We don't want to give too much away, but you can look forward to a culinary delicacy from Mannheim!
