Day 1: Arrival at Thuringian Forest
After your arrival at Thuringian Forest, the green heart of Germany, check into your hotel in Eisenach area. The city is dominated by the Wartburg Castle where Martin Luther translated the New Testament in only eleven weeks.
Day 2: Eisenach - Weimar - Leipzig - F/A
Drive to Classical Weimar, UNESCO World Heritage site to discover a treasure of German culture and land of Goethe, Schiller, Liszt and Strauss. Continue to Leipzig which became wealthy due to its favourable location at important trading routes. See old merchant buildings, the Bach Monument in front of St. Thomas Church, the old stock exchange and the impressive concert hall „Gewandhaus“. Your dinner will be served at "Auerbachs Keller" which is famous for its location in Goethe's major work "Faust". Stay overnight at your hotel in the Leipzig area.
Day 3: Leipzig - Dresden - Berlin - F
In the morning we leave for Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony (but still part of Germany) and one of Europe's loveliest cities. Due to the mild climate and the Mediterranean architecture Dresden is also called “Florence of the River Elbe”. Enjoy the impressive Semper Opera, the joyful gardens of the Zwinger, the colourfully restored Frauenkirche and the “Green Vault” with its famous art treasures. These sights and much more is what awaits you in Dresden. Later in the afternoon you will continue to Berlin area. Stay overnight at your hotel in the Berlin area.
Day 4: Berlin - Potsdam - Berlin - F
During a city tour, you will explore all the highlights of Germany's capital: Brandenburg Gate, Bundestag, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Memorial Church, Checkpoint Charlie and much more. Afterwards you have some leisure time for your favorite activities before we depart towards Potsdam and its magnificent palaces and parks. Your visit of Sanssouci Palace, the former summer residence of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia will amaze you. Afterwards, you return to our hotel for the night.
Day 5: Berlin - Stralsund - Rostock - F
Today, our first stop will be the Town of the Four Gates, Neubrandenburg. The city is famous for a well preserved historic barrier and weir system. Then continue towards the Pomeranian coast and the Baltic Sea. After a break in Greifswald join a city tour in the Hanseatic town of Stralsund. Then drive to your hotel in the Rostock area for the night.
Day 6: Rostock - Wismar - Schwerin - F
Time to experience a Hanseatic highlight: Rostock and its important Baltic seaport Warnemuende. After a short stop at the historic centre of Wismar, together with Stralsund a declared UNESCO World Heritage site, your exciting journey ends in the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Schwerin where you could discover yet another beautiful castle.
