You may know the Little Mermaid, but did you know that the magnificent dome of Frederikskirche (45m high) is one of the largest in Europe? Or that you can climb the spiral tower of the Church of the Redeemer on a dizzying staircase? Of course, the Danish capital has much more to offer: magnificent castles, numerous museums or the pretty gabled houses on the picturesque harbor canal Nyhavn. Also spectacular are some modern buildings, such as the concert hall with its blue shining facade.
Day 1: Arrival in Copenhagen
Arrival in Copenhagen. We would be pleased to assist with the booking of the ferry from Puttgarden to Rödby.
The Danish capital is located in the east of the island of Zealand on the coast of Öresund. It has been awarded several times as the best city to live in and combines Scandinavian tradition with modern spirit. Here you can find ancient castles and churches as well as spectacular buildings such as Royal Opera House.
Day 2: Copenhagen - F
You can admire the most beautiful attractions of the Danish capital. During a guided city walk you will see Christiansborg Palace, the old stock exchange and the harbour canal Nyhavn which is surrounded by pretty houses. There you will find many restaurants and cafes with a nice view. Amalienborg Castle, residence of the Royal family, and also the so called marble church are very impressive. The marvellous dome of the church is one of the largest in Europe. Rather small but very famous: the Little Mermaid. In the afternoon you have the possibility to experience Copenhagen during a boat trip (optional, approximately 1 hour) on the picturesque canals. You will see many highlights such as magnificent castles and churches and again the Little Mermaid, but from another perspective. Tivoli, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, is very popular, too. You will find numerous attractions there, such as a roller coaster, a puppet theater, an open air stage, a garden full of flowers and many restaurants. In the evening thousands of lights will illuminate the park (open from end of April until mid September and during Christmas season).
