Classical Rome - 4 days

Many roads lead to Rome – so do yours! A city full of culture, elegance and history awaits you. Modernity and tradition meet in the "Eternal City" where life pulsates on the streets, squares and small alleys. Let yourself be enchanted by the unique atmosphere and the hustle and bustle of the Italian capital. Explore the ruins of the Forum Romanum and visit the Colosseum. Even today you get the feeling to hear the echo of the gladiatorial battles of past eras. The cityscape of Rome is characterized by countless magnificent churches and museums which testify to the splendid times of the Borghese and Barberini Popes. Follow the tradition and throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain. We are sure you will want to come back again and again!

Day 1: Arrival in Rome
The historical “Eternal City” Rome greets you with its history, monuments and beauty.

Day 2: Classical Rome - F
Today you will experience Rome at its best: during a guided tour you will get to know the most beautiful and famous sights of the eternal city, e.g. the Colosseum (outside), the Forum Romanum (outside), the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. In Piazza Navona which is one of Rome's famous squares, you will admire the colourful activities of street performers. After the tour you should definitely try an original Italian gelato. For the evening we recommand a stroll through the Trastevere district. Small streets and shops as well as numerous restaurants and bars have made this district one of the most popular for night folk. Let the day end with a famous Italian meal in one of the many typical trattorias.

Day 3: Rome – time at own disposal - F
Today you are free to explore Rome by yourself. How about a visit to the Vatican City? The visit of St. Peter's Basilica should be part of every Rome trip. We also suggest a visit of the Vatican Museum with the Sistine Chapel as well as the frescoes and paintings by Michelangelo. Even the Castel Sant'Angelo with its changing history is only a stone's throw away. Originally built as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian, it later became the property of the Vatican and was expanded into a pontifical refuge.
