Krakow - for us the most beautiful city in Poland. Thanks to the preservation of the charming architecture from its time as the capital, Kraków enchants every single visitor. We recommend taking a look at the Wawel Castle from the balcony of this former royal residence. While countless cafés and restaurants lure visitors to the market square during the day, the evening belongs to the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz and the rousing klezmer music. And you should definitely try a "Polish flag" in one of the numerous bars. Na zdrowie! Experience a completely different world in the High Tatras. The alpine town of Zakopane and the views of the majestic mountains are well worth the trip.
Day 1: Arrival Krakow - A
The royal city of Krakow invites you. Krakow is a lively and young city. Visitors will find a multitude of monuments, restaurants, cafés, beer and wine bars. We recommend a first stroll through the old town before and after dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Discover Krakow - F/A
Today you start your sightseeing tour of Krakow. Together with your guide, you will walk through the heart of Krakow - the Old Town, which is surrounded by the Planty green belt. The Main Market Square is one of the most beautiful market squares in Europe. Medieval town houses and aristocratic palaces are lined up around the square. On the east side is the famous Gothic St. Mary's Church with the altar by Veit Stoss.
For the rest of the day, we recommend exploring the Jewish Quarter (Kazimierz) (optional):
Before the war, it was home to the largest Jewish community in Europe and gradually the historic district is growing back to the size it had during its heyday. Many unusual pubs and coffee houses are also contributing to Kazimierz's new popularity. Various synagogues, some of which are among the oldest in Europe and which also house exhibitions on the culture and history of Judaism in Krakow, characterize the district, as do the many Jews who can be seen on the streets here in their traditional garb. During your exploration tour of Kazimierz, visit the Old Synagogue, which houses the Jewish Museum. Finally, stop off at a Jewish restaurant.
Day 3: Trip to the High Tatras – 250 km - F/A
Breakfast is followed by an excursion to the high alpine Tatra Mountains - the home of the Gorals. You will visit the winter sports center of Zakopane, the highest town in Poland. The peculiar wooden architecture is found nowhere else in Europe and enchants with its unforgettable charm. We are happy to offer you a ride on the funicular up to Gubalowka, Zakopane's local mountain (optional). There is a small settlement here with stores and restaurants. A great highlight in summer: a raft trip on the Dunajec through the beautiful landscape (bookable for an extra charge)! After an eventful excursion, you will return to your hotel in Krakow in the evening.
Day 4: Tip: Krakow royal and culinary - F/A
Today you have the opportunity to get to know Krakow in a royal and culinary way (optional): Start with a tour of the Wawel grounds. Wawel Hill is a hill on the edge of the Old Town. It is home to the castle of the same name with its cathedral, coronation site and tomb of many Polish kings. You will then have time to explore the city on your own before meeting up again in the afternoon for a boat trip on the Vistula, including coffee and cake.
Day 5: Journey home - F
